Heck, you even have to deal with them with things like email. <\/p>\n<p>When you send marketing emails, you can bet that there is a good chance that they will end up in the \u201cPromotions tab.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now sometimes these algorithms do adjust in your favor, but<br \/>\nwe all know that\u2019s rare in the long run.<\/p>\n<p>But what if there was a way you could drive consistent traffic, not have to deal with algorithms, and not have to spend money on ads?<\/p>\n<p>There actually is. And I bet you\u2019ve never used it before.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s the best part, it\u2019s generated me more than 231,608 visitors and it automated and free. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-91315\"\/><\/p>\n<h2><strong>How so?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Alright, check this out.<\/p>\n<p>Every time I publish a blog post or anytime I want to drive<br \/>\ntraffic to any page on my site, all I have to do is click a few buttons and instantly<br \/>\nI am able to get more traffic.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/subscribersga.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/subscribersga.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p><em>So how do I do this?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s with a free tool I built called <a href=\"https:\/\/subscribers.com\/\">Subscribers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It leverages something that you are familiar with but probably don\u2019t know what it is.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s called push notifications.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What\u2019s a push notification?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Does this look familiar to you?<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/webpush.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/webpush.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>You can receive messages through your browsers. This is<br \/>\ncalled a push notification.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s cool about push notifications is that anytime someone<br \/>\nvisits your website you can ask them to subscribe to your site.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/subscribeallow.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/subscribeallow.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>And at any time, you can send them a message promoting your<br \/>\nwebsite.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/pushexample-1.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/pushexample-1.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>Each time someone clicks on it, you get traffic to your<br \/>\nsite.<\/p>\n<p>But here is the best part: not only do you not have to deal with any algorithms, but you also don\u2019t have to worry about people missing your push notification either.<\/p>\n<p>See, unlike email, if you send someone a push notification while they are on vacation or sleeping, the next time they log onto their computer and pull up their web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox), they\u2019ll see the push notification.<\/p>\n<p>Here are my stats from some of my most recent push notifications:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/pushnotificationstats.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/pushnotificationstats.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<h2><strong>How to grow your traffic through push notifications <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Head over to <a href=\"https:\/\/subscribers.com\/\">Subscribers<\/a> and sign up for a free account.<\/p>\n<p>Once you add your site and sign up, you\u2019ll need to either<br \/>\nadd a piece of javascript to your site or you\u2019ll have to install a plugin.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you are on Shopify or WordPress, Subscribers has a good amount of options for you.<\/p>\n<p>Once you are up and running, you\u2019ll want to head to the<br \/>\n\u201cprompt settings\u201d navigation option in the sidebar of Subscribers.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/promptsettings.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/promptsettings.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>This is where you control what people see when they come to<br \/>\nyour website so they can subscribe.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019ll want to make sure you have turned on \u201cprompt enabled.\u201d Then select \u201cuse custom popup prompt by default\u201d as this will allow you to select what message you show your users.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what my page looks like.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/promptmessage.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/promptmessage.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>In my prompt settings, you\u2019ll notice I did a few things:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>I uploaded my own image. My site is NeilPatel.com so it makes sense for me to use my own image. For you, it could be your face or your company logo.<\/li>\n<li>For the title and description, you\u2019ll want to clearly state the benefit. I let you know that I am going to send you proven SEO tips and how easy it will be.<\/li>\n<li>You can then test the \u201csubscribe\u201d and \u201cno thanks\u201d button text. I\u2019ve found that text to work well on my site.<\/li>\n<li>As for timing, I like showing the prompt right away as well as showcasing my \u201csubscriber count.\u201d I\u2019ve found that the bottom-right corner converts well for me.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Once everything is set up the way you want, just click \u201csave settings\u201d and you\u2019ll see your prompt on your site.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s what it looks like on the NeilPatel.com site.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/subscribebutton.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/subscribebutton.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>When someone clicks on \u201csubscribe\u201d they will see a prompt<br \/>\nbox that looks something like this\u2026<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/subscribepopup.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/subscribepopup.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>And then when they click to subscribe in the prompt box their browser will ask them if they want to subscribe to your site.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/subscribeallow.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/subscribeallow.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>It\u2019s so effective I have over 600,000 subscribers. <em>It\u2019s a<br \/>\nlot!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It may take time for your subscriber numbers to build up, but the longer you do it the easier it is. Keep in mind I\u2019ve been doing this for a few years now, that\u2019s how I have been able to build up such a large following. <\/p>\n<p>So, once you have subscribers, what\u2019s next?<\/p>\n<h2><strong>How to generate traffic through subscribers<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>What I like doing is promoting my blog posts through <a href=\"https:\/\/subscribers.com\/\">Subscribers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Just click on the \u201cNew Notifications\u201d navigation link.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/newnotificationmenu.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/newnotificationmenu.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>You\u2019ll now be able to send a message to all of your subscribers. More importantly, you\u2019ll be able to promote a URL or a service or product you are selling.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/sendmessage.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/sendmessage.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>There are a few key things you\u2019ll want to do on this page if<br \/>\nyou want the maximum amount of traffic.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Evoke curiosity<\/strong> \u2013 with your headline and description try to pique peoples\u2019 curiosity. This is a simple way to get a ton of clicks. Just like how I asked, \u201cIs SEO Dead?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Show a <strong>large image<\/strong> \u2013 when you use a large image, you\u2019ll find that you will get more clicks. Large images don\u2019t show up on all push notifications, it only shows up for users who are on a PC. If you don\u2019t know where to find images, you can use this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pexels.com\/\">free stock photography site<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Show custom buttons<\/strong> \u2013 this feature also only shows up on PCs and not Macs. But it is still worth using. I\u2019ve found that if I can ask a \u201cyes or no\u201d type of question with my headline, such as \u201cIs SEO Dead?\u201d then when I use \u201cyes\u201d and \u201cno\u201d as the two options in the custom buttons, I get a ton of clicks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you follow those 3 tips, you\u2019ll find that you\u2019ll be able<br \/>\nto maximize how much traffic you get from push notifications.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/seodeadstats.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/seodeadstats.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>Just look at the push I did on the post about SEO being dead\u2026 it drove 16,263 visitors to my blog. That\u2019s a lot of traffic for one push notification.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Don\u2019t forget to set up a Welcome Campaign<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Now the best way to generate traffic from <a href=\"https:\/\/subscribers.com\/\">Subscribers<\/a> isn\u2019t to manually send out<br \/>\nnotifications.<\/p>\n<p>Yes, manual notifications generate traffic but there is a better way.<\/p>\n<p>Through a Welcome Campaign, you can generate even more traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Think of a \u201cwelcome campaign\u201d as a drip sequence like you<br \/>\nwould have in email. But this is through push notifications.<\/p>\n<p>So, in the navigation click on \u201cWelcome Campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/welcomenav.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/welcomenav.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>From there, you\u2019ll want to click on \u201ccreate a new campaign.\u201d From there you will see a page that looks like this:<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/welcomecampaigntext.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/welcomecampaigntext.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>Similar to sending a normal push notification, you\u2019ll want<br \/>\nto use a larger image and use custom buttons as this increases how many clicks<br \/>\nyou\u2019ll get to your site.<\/p>\n<p>The other thing you\u2019ll want to do is be careful and not spam.<br \/>\nDon\u2019t send them a message every 30 minutes or anything annoying like that. I<br \/>\nspread out my messages in my drip by at least a few days.<\/p>\n<p>The first notification goes out instantly, but the rest are<br \/>\nspread out.<\/p>\n<p>Once you set up your welcome campaign, just hit save and you\u2019ll be good to go. <\/p>\n<p>As new people subscribe to your site, they will<br \/>\nautomatically receive notifications which will increase your traffic.<\/p>\n<p>Just like at my welcome campaign stats, it drives more traffic than manual pushes.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/dripstats.png\"\/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/neilpatel.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/dripstats.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p><em>231,608!<\/em> <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s how much traffic I\u2019ve gotten just from my welcome campaign and that number continually climbs each day.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Although most of the popular platforms have algorithms that<br \/>\nare hard to crack, it doesn\u2019t mean that all hope is lost.<\/p>\n<p>There are still other ways to get consistent traffic to your<br \/>\nsite.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s beautiful about Subscribers is that it drives traffic<br \/>\nwithout you having to deal with algorithms or filters.
